Wild-parent F1 group

Captive bred from Blue Heckel × Cuipeuá parents

The fish offered are captive bred. Their male Blue Heckel parent and female Cuipeuá parent were wild caught.

Same parent pairing

Both hatch groups are F1 offspring from the same wild-parent pairing; the younger batch is not F2.

Current group photographs

The photographs show the real fish currently available but do not automatically reserve one exact photographed individual.

Current condition

The fish are currently healthy and well conditioned based on owner observation and husbandry. This is not a lifetime, disease-free or veterinary guarantee.

Habitat visual story

A calm, stable route matters more than a dramatic setup

These dedicated habitat cards show the ecological setting around the fish rather than photographs of the current group.

Amazonian blackwater habitat with submerged leaf litter, branches and schooling fish.
Natural habitat

Leaf litter, roots and shaded water create the calm visual structure associated with blackwater habitats.

Shaded blackwater habitat with roots, leaf litter and protected areas for fish.
Shaded refuge

Broken sight lines and quieter shaded areas help make a large aquarium feel secure rather than exposed.

Leaf-litter floor

Natural structure can be used carefully without reducing the open swimming space required by discus.

Open swimming route

The habitat should balance natural cover with clear, unobstructed room for the group to move.
