Build the route

Build a compact shrimp grazing route

Use the bundle as a measured shrimp route: add cones gradually, feed pellets lightly and treat the fast-dissolving blocks as occasional grazing support.

What it does not do

It does not replace stable husbandry, diagnose livestock problems, cure disease or promise instant water-parameter changes.

Essential details and safety

Use slowly, observe livestock and avoid chasing instant changes. BBA product pages are guidance for careful aquarium use, not veterinary or medical advice.

Preparation notes

  • Start with 2–3 alder cones, then add more over 3–7 days based on desired tint/effect.
  • Feed Botanical Grazing Pellets in small amounts and remove uneaten food after 24 hours.
  • Offer calcium spirulina blocks in small amounts because they dissolve quickly.
  • In very soft water or nano tanks, use less at first and observe livestock and water clarity.

Safety notes

  • Natural products vary in size, shape, colour and texture.
  • Alder cones may release tannins and soften the visual tone of the water.
  • Effects vary depending on KH, pH, tank size, filtration and how much is used.
  • Calcium spirulina blocks are fast-dissolving grazing blocks, not long-lasting mineral blocks.
  • Use small amounts of calcium blocks to avoid excess cloudiness, especially in nano tanks.
  • Do not overfeed pellets or calcium blocks.
  • Remove excess food if needed.
  • No instant pH promise and no livestock-care shortcut claim.
  • Remove if livestock show stress.

Method reminders

Prepare, add gradually, observe

How should this be introduced?

Prepare as appropriate, add a small amount first and watch livestock and water clarity for 24-72 hours before adding more.

Is natural variation normal?

Yes. Botanical and prepared aquarium products can vary in size, colour, shape, texture, tint and breakdown speed.

Does this guarantee water parameter changes?

No. The BBA method is deliberately careful: products can support a route, but they do not promise instant pH, GH or KH results.

End route

Not sure how much to add?

Use the route guidance before building a heavy botanical layout, especially for shrimp, nano and soft-water tanks.
