A natural blackwater botanical starter box with cones, leaves, pods and texture pieces. It includes Casuarina cones, Alder cones, Mahogany slices, Catappa leaves, Oak leaves, Cacao leaves, Eucalyptus bell pods, Cinnamon sticks, Canoinhas pod, Catappa nut and AquaCurl for natural scaping, grazing/biofilm surfaces, gentle tannins and structured cover.

Preparation notes

  • Rinse everything before use. Do not use soap or chemicals. Optional: pre-soak for 1–7 days to help items sink and reduce the first tannin release. Start small, especially in very soft or low-KH water, and add gradually rather than all at once. Place leaves, cones and pods around driftwood, roots, stones and open substrate areas for a natural forest-floor effect. Expect white biofilm at first; this is normal with natural botanicals and is usually eaten by shrimp and snails.
