Essential details and safety
Use slowly, observe livestock and avoid chasing instant changes. BBA product pages are guidance for careful aquarium use, not veterinary or medical advice.
Preparation notes
- Suggested dose: use 1–2 T-Bags per 100 litres / 25 gallons, depending on botanical type, desired tint and aquarium sensitivity.
- For direct aquarium use, place the T-Bag in the aquarium and remove once the desired tint is reached.
- For filter use, place the T-Bag inside the filter compartment or media area.
- For hot brew, steep the T-Bag in boiling water, allow the liquid to cool completely, then add gradually to the aquarium.
- For cold brew, soak the T-Bag in aquarium-safe water for several hours or overnight, then dose the tinted water gradually.
- Always start gradually and observe fish, shrimp and snail behaviour.
Safety notes
- Start gradually, especially in small aquariums, shrimp tanks, soft water or low-KH systems.
- Carbon, Purigen and some chemical filtration media can remove tannins and reduce visible tint.
- Aquasoil, buffering substrates and water chemistry can affect visible colour and pH response.
- Natural leaf-based and bark-based T-Bags may vary in tint strength, colour and release speed.
- This is a natural botanical water-conditioning product, not a chemical livestock-care shortcut.
- Do not overdose. Add gradually and observe livestock behaviour.
- For ornamental fish and shrimp only.
- No instant pH promise and no livestock-care shortcut claim.
- Remove if livestock show stress.

Method reminders
Prepare, add gradually, observe
How should this be introduced?
Prepare as appropriate, add a small amount first and watch livestock and water clarity for 24-72 hours before adding more.
Is natural variation normal?
Yes. Botanical and prepared aquarium products can vary in size, colour, shape, texture, tint and breakdown speed.
Does this guarantee water parameter changes?
No. The BBA method is deliberately careful: products can support a route, but they do not promise instant pH, GH or KH results.
